Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description
Location: Tampa, 33618 – This position is onsite
Pay: $80-$90k MAX
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm
Type: Direct Hire
Job duties:
- Lead and supervise financial processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with clients, addressing their financial needs, concerns, and queries to deliver exceptional service.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective financial strategies for clients and the firm.
- Review and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in client management, building strong relationships and serving as a point of contact for financial matters.
- Play a key role in ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations and standards.
- Prepare and review complex financial reports, statements, and documentation.
- Participate in the preparation and execution of audits, ensuring accurate and thorough assessments.
- Contribute to the optimization of internal processes and workflows for enhanced efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, applying knowledge to improve services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the firm's overall success and growth.
- Act as a reliable resource for colleagues, providing insights and expertise on accounting matters.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, sharing your knowledge and experience.
- Uphold the firm's reputation for excellence by delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.
- Must be flexible for other duties as assigned: As an associate you may be required to cross-train across roles/departments with similar job duties, or assist with other business needs as required
Nice to have:
- Bachelors degree
- CPA
Requirements:
- 5+ years in public accounting or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, payroll,tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Background check required
