Job Description
Location: Winter Park, 32789 - WFH flexible
3 days WFH, 2 days onsite
Pay: $19-$22 /hour
Hours: M-F 8-5
Type: Contract to Hire

Job duties:
- Maximize reimbursement opportunities by effectively answering and handling outbound calls to acquire reimbursement from insurance carriers and patients that have outstanding statements due to the practice.
- Responsible for accounts receivable aging and the collections and resolution of all balances from patients
- Maintain a current patient accounts receivable aging report with no balances over 60 days old.
- Ensure that all payment plans are followed up on and addressed in a timely basis
- Ensure that patient collection phone calls are being made daily
- Process patient payments from all sources (ModMed/Lockbox/Mail)
- Responsible for researching accounts and writing off Bad Debt accounts that are under $35.
- Process patient refunds once approved by Accounts Payable.
- Process Patient Payment tab to allocate funds
- Return calls from billing voicemail
- Must be flexible for other duties as assigned: As an associate you may be required to cross-train across roles/departments with similar job duties, or assist with other business needs as required
Nice to have:
- Medical educational background
- 2 years of experience in medical billing/AR/collections
Requirements:
- Must have (1) year of collections experience
- Must have previous experience working with patients
- Must have excellent customer service skills over the phone, enjoy talking on the phone, build rapport with patients to resolve past due payments
- Medical terminology
- Basic Excel knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Background check required
