Job Title: Staff Accountant
Type: Contract to Hire
Pay rate: $34 hr. 
LOCATION DETAILS:
11101 Roosevelt is the actual work location until June 27th then a period of remote work and on August 1st, Bankers will be in downtown St. Petersburg: 299 1st Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33716.

Hours: 40 hours per week 8:30 to 5:30 with 1-hour lunch
                     In-Office 4 days and remotely 1 day.

Summary of Job Duties: Responsibilities include maintaining work papers, performing GL account reconciliations, financial review and analysis,  Payment’s processing, and special projects.
Duties include:
  • Handle and coordinate daily Accounts Payable payments
  • Agent Commissions payment requests and processing on a quarterly basis.
  • Travel and other expense report processing.
  • Completion of accounting workpapers during the monthly closing cycle and within deadlines. 
  • Accruals and Prepaids preparation, journal processing and tracking.  
  • Perform account reconciliations and detailed financial analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of General Ledger activity
  • Prepare schedules for financial statements support including budget variances.
  • Prepare schedules for Surety management’s review and analysis for Losses paid and Miscellaneous Agents Receivable activity and balances.
  • Accomplish projects assigned by Surety Management and other tasks as directed.


Required Skills and Experience:
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • 2 to 4 years of accounting experience including accounts reconciliations, general ledger review responsibilities and accounts payable payment processing. 
  • Able to create and modify request forms, letters and memos.
  • Credit Score Check due to having financial Access
  • Microsoft Office skills for Outlook and Teams
  • Microsoft Excel skills at an Intermediate Level with the ability to create, maintain and modify complex spreadsheets
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and General Ledger systems is required
  • Experience with Expense Reports systems is preferred
