Job Description
Location: Fully remote
Pay: $23.90 - $44.22/hourly maximum, depending upon experience
Type: Direct hire
Schedule: Flexible, will need to commit to a schedule and be available during most of business hours. M-F, (8) hours daily.
Training schedule: Training is for (2) weeks, some flexibility depending on the trainer’s schedule.
Job description:
- 98% accuracy in selecting and sequencing principal and secondary diagnoses.
- Utilizes manual or computer encoders for accurate coding (ICD-9-CM or CPT).
- Contacts documentation specialists for unclear diagnoses, maintaining accuracy.
- Ensures complete and proper recording of corrections by medical personnel.
- Enters coded information for billing, meeting 98% productivity standards.
- Assists with coding and reimbursement issues, supports case managers.
- Abstracts statistical data accurately, maintaining confidentiality and security standards.

- CAC (computer assisted coding) through 3M
Requirements:
- Must have Certified Coding Associate (CCA), OR Certified Professional Coder (CPC), OR Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) credential is required.
- Must have (Profee/Surgical coding) OR (OB/MFM) OR (Ability to work any chart for a floater role, ambulatory, outpatient)
- At least (2) years of coding experience is preferred.
- Client requires pre-employment testing
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Background check required
- Drug screening required
